Fruto Chamorro

About

Politician who was the 30th and 31st President of Nicaragua from 1853 to 1855. He worked to reestablish a union between Central American states.

Before Fame

After his father died, Chamorro had to return home to take care of his family and his father's inheritance.

Trivia

He was the Supreme Director of the Confederation junta in 1843.

Family Life

He was married to Mercedes Avilés and he died of dysentery in a city that was eventually attacked by William Walker.

Associated With

He and Marxist-Leninist, Daniel Ortega have both served as the President of Nicaragua, the latter beginning his term in 2007.
