Oscar winning cartoonist and filmmaker most recognized for his film, Tout Rien. He won the Academy Award for Animated Short Film in 1982 for his work on the film, Crac!

Before Fame

After emigrating to Canada in 1948, he began teaching at the prestigious École des Beaux-Arts de Montréal.

Trivia

He received the official Order of Canada, the country's second highest honor.

Family Life

He was born in Germany. He was married to Ghylaine Paquin from 1949 up until his death.
