FT Prince

About

South African-born British poet and professor known for a World War II poem entitled "Soldiers Bathing." His other poetic works include The Doors of Stone, Drypoints of the Hasidim, and Walks in Rome.

Before Fame

He studied at Balliol College, Oxford. He published his debut poetry collection in 1938.

Trivia

He taught at universities in England, Jamaica, America and Yemen.

Family Life

He was the son of a Londoner father of Dutch-Jewish descent and a Scottish mother. He married in 1943.

Associated With

His early poetic works were both praised and published by T.S. Eliot.
