Soul singer and songwriter from Austin, Texas. He is known as the lead singer of the psychedelic soul band Black Pumas. The group released its self-titled debut album on June 21, 2019. 

Before Fame

He started performing in musical theater. He was a busker at the Santa Monica Pier and in Austin.

Trivia

In 2020, his band performed on several TV shows, including The Ellen DeGeneres Show,  The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, Late Night with Seth Meyers, and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

Family Life

He and his siblings were raised by a single mother. His two uncles helped raised him.

In January 2021, President-Elect Joe Biden invited the Black Pumas to perform virtually during his inauguration activities.
