She and her husband, David Comeau, welcomed a naturally conceived son, Trevor, in 2010.

Though she was the United States' first test tube baby, she followed fourteen other in-vitro births worldwide, including that of Englishwoman Louise Brown, the world's first medically-conceived baby.
