Doug Burgum

Politician famous for his work while being the Governor of North Dakota and his run for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination. He is the co-founder and CEO of Great Plains Software, which specializes in business management software. Great Plains Software was acquired by Microsoft in the year 2001.

Before Fame

He graduated from North Dakota State University with a computer science degree. He also earned an MBA from Stanford University.

During his time as governor, he focused on workforce development, agriculture, and energy. He served on the advisory board for the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

He married Kathryn Helgaas in the year 2016. He has three children with his former wife Kare Stoker.
