She picked up golf at five years old and won the Los Angeles Junior Championships in 1956.

Trivia

She became a Golf Channel announcer following her retirement and was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame.

Family Life

Her father Harry taught her to play golf. She married Edward Byrnes in July 2006.
