Debendranath Tagore

About

A Hindu philosopher who was associated with the Brahmo Samaj. He was the founder of the Brahmo religion.

Before Fame

He was born in Jorasanko, which was later converted into the campus of the Rabindra Bharati University.

Trivia

He did not reject material possessions and had estates all over Bengal, which was contrary to Hindu tradition and philosophy.

Family Life

His father was industrialist Dwarkanath Tagore.

Associated With

He and writer Sri Aurobindo were both part of the Bengal Renaissance.
