David Mills

About

Known for his screenwriting and production work on the NBC program Kingpin and the HBO presentation The Corner, this acclaimed writer received two Emmy Awards for the latter miniseries. Also a Pulitzer Prize-nominated journalist, he wrote feature articles for The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Times.

Before Fame

While studying at the University of Maryland, he wrote for his school's student newspaper, The Diamondback. Before writing and producing Kingpin and The Corner, he penned episodes of ER and NYPD Blue.

Trivia

He wrote the 1994 season premiere of the TV series Homicide: Life on the Street; the episode featured a guest performance by the acclaimed actor Robin Williams.

Family Life

He grew up in Washington, D.C. and Lanham, Maryland. Sadly, he suffered a fatal brain aneurysm at the age of forty-eight.

He won both an Edgar Award and a Writers Guild of America Award for his work on Season Four of The Wire (a popular HBO series starring Dominic West).
