Spanish goalkeeper who joined Manchester United in 2011 after spending two years with Atletico Madrid. He helped lead Atletico Madrid to a UEFA Europa League title in 2010 and a UEFA Super Cup Championship in 2010. He joined Fiorentina in 2024.

He began his youth career at age 10 with Atletico Madrid.

He made appearances on Spain's U21 and U23 national teams before being called up to the senior national team for the first time in 2014.

He was born in 1990 in Madrid, Spain. He and Spanish singer Edurne had a daughter named Yanay in March 2021.
