Norwegian sculptor and art historian known for her large, outdoor metalwork sculptures. One of her most famous pieces is the Collar and Bow outside of the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles.

Before Fame

She attended the University of Groningen to study art and she later worked at the Stedelijk Museum.

Trivia

Her installation Cupid's Span was put up in Rincon Park in San Francisco in 2002.

Family Life

She was married to Claes Oldenburg, with whom she collaborated on many of her iconic sculptures.

Associated With

She worked on a performance art piece in 1985 with architect Frank Gehry.
