Son of Senator Robert F. Kennedy of the historic Kennedy family. He started the non-profit Top Box Foods and served as President of The Merchandise Mart in Chicago.

He earned a Masters in business administration from the Kellogg School of Management and completed his undergrad at Boston College.

He married Sheila Sinclair Berner in 1987 and has four children with her.
