Casandra Damirón

Dominican singer, folklorist, and actress who is known as "La Soberana de la Canción". She is also known for her roles in Las canciones unidas, Las pecadoras and El Show de Napoleón Dihmes. Her last on-screen acting role was in 1968.

Before Fame

She started singing at the age of 6 and began acting in the theater at age 11. 

Trivia

She was the host of the television program she created called Aci Nosotros. In 1985, the Casandra Awards in arts was established, in her honor. In 2012, it was changed to the Soberano Awards.

Family Life

Her father was of French descent. Her first husband was Andrés Moreta and they had a son named Andres. Her second husband was Luis Armando Rivera González and they had two children, Jose and Luisa.

She worked alongside Rogelio Guerra in the film Las pecadoras.
