She told her parents she wanted to sing on stage when she was only 5 years old. Her first audition was for Dorothy in a stage adaptation of The Wizard of Oz.

She was hired to be an understudy and part of the ensemble for the Tuacahn Center for the Arts' production of Les Miserables.
