About

Director who became one of the most respected in Mexico with films like Un Embrujo (1998), El Crimen del Padre Amaro (2002) and Backyard (2009). He won seven Ariel Awards from 1992 to 2010. 

Before Fame

He began making his own films with a Super 8 camera at age 12. He studied film at Universidad Iberoamericana. 

Trivia

His drama El Crimen del Padre Amaro was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
