Brian Acton

American computer programmer and Internet entrepreneur. He co-founded WhatsApp with Jan Koum. The company was acquired by Meta in February 2014 for $19 billion.

Before Fame

He received a full scholarship to study engineering at the University of Pennsylvania but left to study at Stanford University. He graduated in 1994 with a degree in computer science.

Trivia

He was executive chairman of the Signal Foundation, which he co-founded with Moxie Marlinspike in 2018.
