Before Fame

In the 1980s, he was a dancer for Fatlip. Imani and Slimkid3 were in a group called As Is and later a group called the Play Brothers. The four met up as dancers. They decided to form their own hip-hop group in 1989.

Trivia

He provided vocals for the track "Dirty Harry" from Gorillaz's second studio album, Demon Days. The Pharcyde released 4 studio albums throughout their career.

Family Life

He was born Romye Robinson in Pasadena, California. In 2017, he and his ex-wife Lisa Chin founded Store No 242 in Los Angeles, selling designer and vintage items, as well as Pharcyde merchandise.

He has collaborated with The Roots, J Dilla, Gorillaz, and De La Soul. Pharcyde continue to record and tour, together and solo. In 2022, he was featured on the Gorillaz song "New Gold," alongside Tame Impala. He also started PharcydeTV.
