About

Hot-tempered basketball coach best known for his time with the Indiana Hoosiers where he spent almost 30 years. He was also the head coach for Army and Indiana among other teams. 

Before Fame

He learned from Hall of Fame coach Fred Taylor at Ohio State.

Trivia

The last place he coached before his retirement was at Texas Tech. In 1991, he was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. 

Family Life

He was married to Nancy Falk from 1963 to 1985, then in 1988, he married Karen Veith Edgar. He had two sons named Pat and Tim.
