Bob Woods

About

Former professional hockey defender from 1989 to 2011; made his NHL coaching debut in 2009, as an assistant with the Washington Capitals, then became an assistant for the Anaheim Ducks in 2011.

Before Fame

He was selected 201st overall by the New Jersey Devils in the 1988 NHL Draft.

Trivia

In addition to the NHL, he also served as a head coach in the American Hockey League, and in the East Coast Hockey League.

Family Life

His son Brendan Woods was a 5th round pick of the Carolina Hurricanes in 2012.

Associated With

He began his NHL coaching career as an assistant to Bruce Boudreau with Washington in 2009, and he followed Boudreau to the Anaheim Ducks in 2011.
