Late golfer who won the PGA Championship in 1959 and was twice the runner-up at the U.S. Open. He later became a respected broadcaster for more than 30 years, becoming the longest serving television golf announcer ever.

He was a great baseball player at the University of Stanford and nearly pursued a professional baseball career.

Trivia

He played against and defeated Hall of Fame baseball player Ty Cobb in the Olympic Club Championship at age 12.
