British travel content creator who rose to fame for presenting raw, uncensored travel vlogs with over 600,000 subscribers on his BlackmanDaTraveller YouTube channel. He is particularly known for highlighting global destinations that are typically underrepresented by mainstream media and tourism, such as Afghanistan and Somalia, to name just a few. 

Before Fame

He studied drama and theatre arts at Epping College, which he attended until 2011. He launched his YouTube channel in January 2020. His channel's debut video was titled "HANOI STREET TRAIN GONE WRONG | SCAM CAUGHT ON CAMERA." 

Trivia

He has earned recognition for his deferential and honest approach to documenting the world, offering a unique lens shaped by his experiences as a Black traveler. Having grown tired of London city life, he began his journey as a travel content creator in 2017 when, on a whim, he decided to quit his job and book a one-way ticket to Australia.

Family Life

He was born Ameer Kato Shamsu. In March 2025, he posted a video on his blackman_datraveller Instagram account in which he introduced his sister and new father-in-law while visiting Kampala, Uganda. His wife and daughter have appeared in several of his YouTube videos.
