Bernie Winters

English comedian who was part of the Mike and Bernie Winters act, and also had a career as a solo performer. He appeared in the 1960 film Jazz Boat.

Before Fame

He served in the merchant navy and performed as a musician at local dances and weddings.

Trivia

He presented The Big Top Variety Show in the 1970s and 1980s and went on to present the second series of the game show, Whose Baby? in 1984.

Family Life

His father worked as a bookmaker and his brother, Mike performed in the duo, Mike and Bernie Winters, with him for a number of years.

Due to Tommy Steele's recommendation, he had the chance to perform on the show, Six-Five Special.
