American gospel musician who is best recognized for her hit singles :When the Saints Go to Worship", "Thank You", and "When the Battle is Over". She is also known for her associations with Light Records and the Shanachie Label as well. 

Before Fame

She attended the University of Alabama where she studied Voice Performance. After winning several singing competitions and earning recognition, she recorded her first album Hold On in July of 2004. 

Trivia

She is also known for having served as Overseer of Worship at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Nashville. 

Family Life

She was born and raised in Selma, Alabama and married Delvin Washington in 2001. Together they have two children.
