Ben Wheatley

About

English director, filmmaker, editor, and producer known for his films Kill List (2011), Sightseers (2012), the ABCs of Death (2012), A Field in England (2013), and Meg 2: The Trench (2023). He is best known for his work in the horror and thriller genres. 

Before Fame

He began his career in advertising and worked on commercials and short films. He then transitioned into feature films and television shows.  He won an award at the Cannes advertising festival for his work on the ad, "The Viral Factory" in the year 2006. He then started getting into feature-length films and directed his first feature film Down Terrace in the year 2009. 

Trivia

He is a huge fan of Martin Scorsese's films, especially Taxi Driver. He directed the feature film Down Terrace in just eight days. He also is skilled as an animator, and his clip called, "Cunning Stunt" received over ten million views. 

Family Life

He was born in Essex, England. He met Amy Jump while attending school and the two married very young. They have one son together.
