Before Fame

When he was just 15 years old, he won a junior division state bull-riding championship, and after high school, he began training for the stage in San Francisco.

He was cast as Jasper Fant in Lonesome Dove and its sequel Return to Lonesome Dove. He also had roles in the films Mask and The Legend of Billie Jean.

He was born in Snyder, Texas.
