Most well known for her roles in the Filipino television series Maria la del Barrio and Be Careful with My Heart, she is also notable for her Metro Manila Film Festival award-winning work in the 2001 feature Hubog.

Before Fame

She began her acting career in the mid-1990s, appearing in the films Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita and Medrano.

Trivia

Between 2009 and 2015, she appeared in numerous episodes of the Filipino drama anthology series Maalaala Mo Kaya.

Family Life

Born Maria Assunta Tiotangco Schiavone to a family of both Filipino and Italian heritage, she spent her earliest days in Lecce, Italy. Her husband, Jules Ledesma, is a Filipino politician, and her sister, Alessandra De Rossi, is an actress.
