Arlene Duncan

Canadian actress and singer who has appeared in over 80 film and television roles, as well as several theatrical productions. She has been best recognized for her roles in Don't Say a Word and Silent Hill: Revelation. She has promoted her work and updates on projects on her msarlened Instagram account. In 2023, she played Meredith Lawson in the TV series Accused. 

Before Fame

She studied musical theater at Sheridan College and was a winner of the Du Maurier Search for Stars contest in 1979.

Trivia

She released her debut single "I Wanna Groove" in 1982, winning Female Vocalist of the Year at the 1983 Canadian Black Music Awards. She was also awarded Outstanding Achievement in Dance/House Music by the Black Label Artists Coalition in 1994.

Family Life

She was born and raised in Oakville, Ontario, Canada, to Icilda and Alvin Aberdeen Duncan. Her great-grandfather, Benedict Duncan, was an enslaved person who fled Maryland through the Underground Railroad and became a sexton in Oakville.
