Antonio Ortiz

About

Lead vocalist and founding member of the death-doom metal band Lachrima Corphus Dissolvns, which was established in La Paz, Bolivia. Together, he and the band released numerous demos, EPs, and their 2009 full-length studio album, "The Truth is Out There."

Before Fame

He discovered the doom metal genre in the 1990s when he found albums of bands like Empyrium and Saturnus. He had previously performed with black, death, grind, and gothic metal bands but wished to organize a doom metal band of his own and began seeking musicians to audition in 2000.

Trivia

In November 2022, he organized Nomine Doom Concert, the first doom festival in Bolivia, which was inspired by the Nomine Doom Festival held annually in Peru.

Family Life

His mother was tragically murdered.

He participated in a 2018 tribute to the band Iron Maiden, which has featured members including Bruce Dickinson and Nicko McBrain.
