Anita Roberts

About

American scientist known for her work on the protein TGF-β (transforming growth factor beta), which heals wounds and fractures and also affects certain cancers. She is also a blogger who has received much attention for her intimate posts.

Before Fame

She worked at Harvard Medical School and joined the National Cancer Institute in 1976.

Trivia

She was diagnosed with stage four gastric cancer in 2004 and wrote a blog detailing her experience with it which received a lot of recognition in the scientific community.

Family Life

She married Dr. Robert E. Roberts in 1965 and the couple had two sons.

Associated With

In 2003, the French Association for Cancer Research awarded her the Leopold Griffuel Prize, which Carlo Croce won in 2005.
