Publisher who became famous due to his 20-year marriage to Martha Stewart. Though it has never been made public, Jerry Oppenheimer's unlicensed biography of his wife put fourth several theories as to why the couple divorced, alleging accusations of infidelity, neglect, and anger management issues. He married an employee of Martha's that was 21 years younger than her three years after their divorce. 

Before Fame

He studied at Yale University and met Martha as a student on a blind date in 1960. 

Trivia

He began his career as the CEO of various distribution houses before opening his own. He became the president of Harry and Abrams after he and Martha moved to Connecticut. During his time in Connecticut, he and Martha lived in a farm house that was built in 1805.

He and Martha have a child together named Alexis Stewart.
