Cartoonist and animator known most for his work with Walt Disney Animation Studios. He has primarily overseen the animation of villains, most notably Scar from The Lion King and Gaston in Beauty and the Beast.

Before Fame

He has said that watching Disney's The Jungle Book as a child is what inspired him to become an animator and cartoonist.

Trivia

He was largely responsible for creating the character of Hercules in the Disney film of the same name.

Family Life

He is openly gay. He has said that this has influenced the creation of some of his characters. 

Associated With

He also helped create the character of Jafar in Aladdin, which starred Robin Williams as the Genie.
