She and Phil Collins met when they were only 11 years old while attending drama school together. They would reconnect over a decade later and tie the knot at the age of 24.

In 2001, she released the Salt Spring Island Women's "Preserve and Protect" calendar, which sold over 15,000 copies and raised more than $250,000 in support of the "Battle to Save Salt Spring" initiative.
