Actress known as one of the most successful Portuguese performers. She was in series like Por Ti, Amor Amor, The People's Banker, Cabaret, Dear Teacher and Rage to Live. She received a Golden Globe award for the series Hannah and the Seven. She appeared in the Portuguese version of the children's television series Sesame Street. 

Before Fame

She studied Philosophy at the Faculty of Arts of Lisbon. She joined the Lisbon Theatre and Film School, where she graduated in Theatre.

Trivia

She was in films like The Dolphin, Out There and The Woman Who Believed U.S. President. She has been in several plays including some written by David Mamet, Molière, Almeida Garrett, José Régio and Gil Vicente.

Family Life

She was married to actor Virgílio Castelo and Dutch television producer Piet-Hein Bakker. She has two children named Margaret and Catherine. She is half-sister of journalist Ana Paula Ribeiro.
