Albertin Montoya

About

Soccer coach who was the interim head coach of the Washington Spirit late in the National Women's Soccer League 2022 season. He coached the United States women's national under-17 soccer team from 2011 to 2012. In September 2023, he was appointed as the first head coach for Bay FC. 

Before Fame

He began his youth career playing for North Carolina State from 1993 to 1995. He played for Santa Clara University in 1996.  

Trivia

He was a player on the United States U17 and U21 teams. In 1998, he made 1 appearance for the San Jose Clash. 

Family Life

He married Erin Martinez, a former player in the Women's United Soccer Association and an alumna of Santa Clara University.

He and fellow former soccer player Osvaldo Alonso were both born in Cuba.
