Albert Outler

Former Methodist theologian and philosopher who was best remembered for his contributions to the ecumenical movement.

Before Fame

He was an excellent student while studying for his Ph.D. at Yale University. He taught for a lengthy period of time at Southern Methodist University.

Trivia

He once served on the Faith & Order board of the World Council of Churches and was named an official observer of the Second Vatican Council.

Family Life

He was brought up in Georgia where he was ordained a Methodist Elder.
