Aidan Kelly

About

American neo-pagan writer who formed the New Reformed Orthodox Order of the Golden Dawn and the Covenant of the Goddess in the 1960s. He was a major figure in the Wiccan community. He has published multiple academic works that have studied Gardnerian Wiccan history and origins. 

Before Fame

He attended the University of California, Berkeley and later, San Francisco State University.

Trivia

He wrote and published the memoir Hippie Commie Beatnik Witches: A History of the Craft in California 1967-77, in 1978. He has published over 15 works relating to the history of religion. 

Family Life

His son, Aidan O'Ryan-Kelly, followed in his footsteps as a Wiccan and magic user.
