Afghan music icon who recorded more than thirty albums during his short-lived career. He died in a car accident at just 33 and is remembered in Afghan popular culture for his anti-Marxist views.

Before Fame

He played accordion while attending Habibia High School in Kabul.

Trivia

Many of his recordings were destroyed by the Afghan government due to the anti-government commentary found in many of his lyrics.

Family Life

His father, Abdul Zahir, served as the Prime Minister of Afghanistan in the early 70's.

Associated With

His brand of rock music often been compared to that of American rock legend Elvis Presley.
