Before Fame

He competed in breakdancing and hip hop competitions as a teen. He began acting at the age of eight, but didn't start taking it seriously until he was a senior in high school, when he auditioned for the school musical Fame and ultimately got a lead role. 

Trivia

He has had recurring roles on other television programs, including CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and On the Up. His skills as a dancer helped get him into acting as a teen.
