He graduated from the Screenwise Film & TV School Sydney in 2009. That same year, he was in an episode of Home and Away, and a couple of episodes of Rescue Special Ops.

His cousin is Australian coach and former basketball player Tyson Demos. He and Sarah Shahi began dating after meeting on the set of their Netflix show Sex/Life.
