Before Fame

She graduated from İTÜ Turkish Music State Conservatory, where she learned to play the three-stringed kemençe while also participating in a number of choirs.

Trivia

She was part of the musical trio İzel-Çelik-Ercan until they broke up in 1993. She released her debut album, "Adak," in 1995. She would later go on to selling over 2 million records overall.

She was born in Yalova, Turkey.

Associated With

She tried twice to represent Turkey at Eurovision Song Contest in 1989 and 1990 but was unable to get far in the competition either time. In 1991, however, she performed a song called "İki Dakika," which got 12th place.
